On the eve of D-Day, looking at the beach during Liberty Concert Normandy, we remember how freedom was fought for and how vulnerable peace is. We look back to the Second World War and, in particular, to D-Day: the day on which the liberation of Europe began. We will start the celebration of the 75thanniversary of freedom with this respectful opening ceremony.
During Liberty Concert Normandy, trio Zazi sings well-known songs of the WW2 period in their contemporary interpretation. This trio is formed by Dafne Holtland, Margriet Planting and Sabien Bosselaar. Wherever they play, no matter how small the stage will be, they overload their bus with an impossible number of instruments and invariably drive the technicians crazy. Dafne plays electric guitar, piano, banjo and ukulele; Margriet plays bass and cello; and Sabien plays accordion, synths and controls Ableton for the beats.
